Welcome!

“Classical summer in Odense 2023” is the title of a series of concerts of approx. one hour duration every Wednesday during the period from July 12th until August 9th.

All performing artists are domestically and internationally recognized musicians and established ensembles.

Each concert will present a rich variation of classical music and will take place in three of the most centrally located churches in the city of Odense. Works by the Danish composer Carl Nielsen (1865-1931) will be performed at each concert among works by other composers. It is the intention of the organizers hereby to maintain the knowledge and to pass on the acquaintance of Carl Nielsen’s music.

Church of Our Lady (Vor Frue Kirke) is the oldest church in Odense. It has recently been renovated and presents three of the five concerts in the concert series: July 12th, July 26th and August 9th, all at 7 pm. Ansgars Kirke presents the second concert on July 19th at 5 pm, and the discreetly located Graabrødre Klosterkirke presents the concert on August 2nd at 7 pm with the internationally recognized Nightingale String Quartet.

Entrance fee:
Adults DKK 100 / € 15
Students and children u. 18 DKK 50 / € 10

Tickets are sold at the entrance from one hour before every concert. Due to rehearsals the doors will be open to the audience 30 minutes before the concerts.

The tour lasts approx. 75 minutes and is free of charge. The tour begins at 9 pm from The Old Inn (Den Gamle Kro), Overgade 23, only a short walk from the Church of Our Lady.
